Nikon Nikkor 24-120mm f/4.0G ED VR Lens Review

This is an FX format, full frame lens with a 5 times zoom lens with a fixed maximum aperture of f/4 through the full 24 mm to 120 mm range of focal lengths.
The lens has built in vibration reduction, with VR II, offering camera shake and vibration compensation equivalent to a shutter speed increase of four steps.

This lens effectively replaces the old 24-12mm variable aperture 3.5-5.6 VR lens. I have been a user of this previous lens for several years and look forward to more extensive testing to compare the two lenses. Undoubtedly the newer lens with the more modern design and the Nanocoating will prove to be more superior in optical performance.

The lens is equipped with two VR modes, Normal and Active, Nano Crystal Coat is used toadopted to significantly reduce ghost and flare. The lens also uses Nikon’s internal focusing system and is equipped with two ED and three aspherical lens elements for a superior optical performance.

Two focus modes available,  M/A (manual-priority autofocus) and M (manual focus), a Silent Wave Motor ensures smooth, quiet AF operation.
