Nikon Lens Reviews, Recommendations and Articles
The following links summarise details and reviews of Nikon lenses on this site. We are adding to the information and reviews continually, so come back on a regular basis to see the latest reviews. We do not include all the Nikkors, I am not too keen on some of the cheaper consumer lenses and do not review them. Also some of the older lenses which have been superceded by more modern designs, in some cases, some of the older favourite fixed focal length lenses have been superseded by far better zoom and fixed focal length lenses. Some of the current zooms offer exceptional quality, such as the 14-24mm f/2.8 and the 70-200mm f/2.8 VR and the 200-400mm f/4 VR. Only those lenses that are currently available and are recommended from our knowledge and experience are reviewed.
Take into consideration that DX lenses are only suitable on DX bodies (DX lenses will vignette to some extent at certain focal lengths, when used on FX cameras), however the FX lenses can be used on both DX and FX bodies. In general the DX lenses are much cheaper, smaller and lighter than FX lenses.
If you currently have a DX camera and propose to move to FX cameras in the future, it may be better to start off with FX lenses, as these lenses will be suitable for both DX and FX cameras.
