Canon EF 15mm f2.8 Fisheye

The Canon EF 15mm f/2.8 Autofocus Fisheye Lens is a lens which give a 180 degree viewing angle. Fisheye lenses such as this do have considerable distortion, however some photographers do like the perspective obtained.

Fisheye lens with a 180° angle of view for unique and intriguing effects. The huge depth of field obtained makes it even more interesting. This type of lens can also be used for creative close up shots.

The lens has a fixed petal type hood and a gelatin filter holder at the rear of the lens.

Many of these prime lenses are excellent for available light photography, mainly because they have a large aperture of f/1.4 to f/2.8, whereas many zoom lenses have apertures of between f/4 to f/5.6, and if you want to get into low light photography them the lenses with larger apertures are the way to go.

Prime lenses are generally smaller than their equivalent zooms, also making them quite easy for travelling with a light kit. A kit comprising of three small prime lenses can be very easy to manage as a small kit but some photographers do prefer to use zooms for their convenience.
