Photoshop CS5 now has a good capability to enhance images using a single image HDR adjustment. The single image HDR adjustment can be accessed by selecting “Image/Adjustments/HDR Toning” from the top bar. The above image has been adjusted using these adjustments.

On selection, the following dialogue box comes up. There are several adjustments to adjust the Edge Glow, Tone and Detail and the color.
